Malibu Beach Grill Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Stopped in for dinner with my mom and sister. The wait was long (it was prom night), so we sat outside because we could be seated right away. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer, and we tried the mahi mahi, tilapia, and chicken dishes for entrees. All were quite delicious. The sauce that is served with the calamari is incredible. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I didn't like that the mango "salsa" that is served with the tilapia is not really a salsa or chutney like I thought it would be. Rather, it is just chopped mangoes and other fruit, which make it hard to get on a fork with the tilapia. I was hoping the salsa would be something to dip the tilapia in, but regardless, the fish was well seasoned itself and very tasty. I also didn't really care for the "presentation lettuce" that came with every dish we ordered, including the appetizer. (Fried calamari on lettuce? Very weird.) The restaurant does a nice job plating, but I HATE when any restaurant adds a handful of spinach or mixed greens for presentation's sake. It detracts from the plating of the dish and feels cheap, like a diner or an unrefined restaurant. The plating would be much sleeker and upscale-looking if they took away the unnecessary greens. Overall, our meal took 2 hours to complete, which is incredibly too long, especially because the prom crowd left shortly after we arrived and it really wasn't crazy busy anymore. I blame this all on our server, though, because we received our meal before the end of the first hour. Because of his terrible service, eating and paying took up the last hour and 15 minutes. Our server was the most obnoxious server I have ever had. He wore a fake, obsequious smile and was so over-the-top in his demeanor that it felt contrived. He would disappear for long periods of time. He never once asked us how our food was (not that we had any complaints, but it's a question a server should ask). He neglected to fill our drinks in a timely manner. We had to request a box twice. But this is not really the fault of the restaurant. They can't help it if someone is annoying, so I did not subtract any stars for this. The waiter did his job; he just did it slowly and obnoxiously. Other things worth noting: - The restaurant takes call-aheads but not reservations. Just call on your way in to get your name on the waiting list and you shouldn't have to wait too long once you're there. - It was incredibly loud, even though we were seated outside, but I think that was just because the people at the table next to us thought it would be appropriate to shout across their table to another table. They were very annoying. This place is definitely worth a visit. The menu has variety and the flavors are spot on.

This restaurant has great ambience, I also like the fact that it has outdoor dining! We ordered the crab cakes for appetizers and they were so good we wished we had ordered them for dinner! The waiters were very attentive and we would definitely go back again!

Awesome meal every time! Our 2nd visit during our vacation and it was excellent once again. My husband tried the ribs for the first time. Both my husband and 5 year old son loved them! The sirloin was delicious! Great place!

Summary: Really bad service during most recent visit will keep us from returning for a long while. We've eaten at Malibu 4 times over the past few months with parties of 2 - 5 people. Best (first) visit (November 2014, weeknight): We ordered the surf and turf special-- good lobster, sirloin and potato at a good price-- and a pasta dish. Great server, great experience. So good we decided to eat at Malibu regularly. Worst (last) visit (February 2015, weeknight): Walked into restaurant-- had to look for host. Seated first at a table that the host pointed out "had not yet been cleaned"-- were then moved next to a table where three waitresses from San Diego Grill-- a nearby sister restaurant-- were seated. We listened the whole time to the waitresses complain to each other and various Malibu staff about work at SDG, life, unhappy coworkers, etc. The waitresses ended up hosting the Malibu host nearly the whole time we were at Malibu-- at least now we know where he was when we walked in. Our waiter (think Sprat from downton abbey but without the sense of humor) is unfriendly and absolutely seems like he'd much rather be somewhere else. He looks jealous he's not getting attention from the SDG waitress table despite his best efforts. After approx 15 minutes of waiting sprat suddenly moves to our table and takes our order-- he's horribly condescending and won't make eye contact with us. He returns briefly to drop (literally) off beverages and table bread with just 3 tiny buns-- on the other visits our table bread was full and kept full-- but sprat decided we needed to diet. We are sad. Approx 15 minutes later sprat returns to the SDG waitress table to show off his charm-- he's again summarily rejected and gazes our way. We wave to get his attention and ask him about our salads and soups-- he says he "forgot to order them"!!! I wish I was kidding!!! He was in no way apologetic or contrite-- he looked like he couldn't really care less. We were in the restaurant 30 minutes!!!!!! Perhaps the manager had gone home and since the "cat was away the mice were at play." Perhaps Malibu has really bad management. I have no explanation and we didn't wait for theirs (not that there was anyone there who cared anyway...). We left Malibu immediately and walked 200ft to 5 Guys Burgers where we received much better service (!!!) and a decent meal.

Always make sure I stop here when out at the shops in Port Orange! There is a nice selection of items on the menu so far have always enjoyed the food. The Sunday brunch is really nice if you have not tried it you should!

Just had the Ribeye, melted in my mouth. Couldn't resist the fried cheesecake ala mode for dessert. Hubby and I had to roll ourselves out the door. We have always had great service.

I have a winter place in Daytona and frequently eat at Malibu Grill. My only complaint is with the encrusted mushrooms. They taste wonderful, but.... The price keeps going up and the size of the mushrooms and the amount of mushrooms you get keeps going down, down down. Just about at the point where they are not worth getting..... Otherwise, the food and service there is excellent!

Malibu Beach Grill was an excellent place. I had the best pork chips that I have ever had. The atmosphere was great, the wait staff was fantastic and the prices were perfect. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The rolls were warm and the Rory (the waiter) was always right there when we needed something. I will definitely be back.

A five star restaurant at a cheap and reasonable price! You'll feel rich without having to pay for it! The menu is very sophisticated but meals don't cost you am arm and a leg! And I know I sound ridiculous saying to try the burger but it is an excellent burger! Excellent! Order the onion rings as an appetizer along with the tiger sauce--you will not be disappointed! The clam chowder is really well done and the tomato bisque when it is available is phenomenal! The blackened tilapia with fresh mango salsa is quite good! The drink specialities are quite unique--I.e. The apple pie martini which had a cinnamon and graham cracker rim! Go but wear at least a polo--it is a great romantic atmosphere and you will enjoy yourself! No TVs in the main dining area and when it is nice out it is great to eat on the patio outdoors! Go go go!

Food was great, service was excellent, great variety on menu. We ordered off the lighter fare portion and the prices were super reasonable. Only con was it was a little difficult to find as we drove in circles looking for it. It's just behind the Chuck E Cheese. Beautiful building and interior was gorgeous as well. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Just moved here and we were excited to try this place.. We probably won't go back. We ordered pork chops, baked potato and side salad. The service was pretty slow. They do bring out rolls but they were some cheap small hard rolls and COLD butter patties. Who in the world wants cold hard butter for a roll. Well the pork chops came out, they looked ok but they just did not taste good at all. I think they were applewood pork chops but they tasted horrible. I tried to eat it but ended up taking it home to my dog. We were disappointed as this was the first restaurant we tried here in port orange. We most likely won't be back. Nice atmosphere and they had a small bar, great location but that's it.

Malibu is one of my favorite places to dine with my girlfriends! Malibu Mondays are an awesome way to start the week, they have some great deals! My favorites are the Peach Sangria, Firecracker Shrimp, Calamari, their soups, salads and baked potato are wonderful and I'm a big fan or the blacked tilapia or citrus mahi! If I ever have visitors in town this is one of the places I like to bring them, too! The glass party room is good if you have a birthday, also!

Every other Friday, my BFF and I go for a Friday lunch. As other reviews have stated, it is consistent, ambiance is outstanding, and service is exceptional!! For many years, we have gone with different folks for dinner and we all love their spinach!! Go and ENJOY.

We have been there several times, lunch and dinner and the Sunday Brunch and have never been disappointed. Good service and good food, you can't beat that! The interior is beautiful and looks like it could have been an expensive evening but it was quit reasonable and the staff is great We'll keep going back!!

Consistently good. Whenever we are staying in the Daytona Beach-Port Orange area, we eat here. We love the lite bites. My go to is the Citrus Glazed Mahi Mahi with Asiago Mashed potatoes and asparagus. The last time I was there (about a month ago ) I had the tilapia with mango salsa. VERY good. The salads are good too but I recommend the Malibu Beach house. For dessert, try the creme brûlée.

Yesterday we ventured down to the Pavilion for lunch (the restaurant that we wanted to go to did not open until 4). So, after my brief moment of "disappointment" I googled Malibu Beach Grill and saw the fabulous menu. Between the two of us (the hubs and I), we decided on having lunch here. For starters- this place is BEAUTIFUL! It's romantic and has the upscale feeling of a fine dining restaurant. When we walked into the dining room, I was amazed by the chocolate booths and soft lighting. The accent pieces of blown glass and the wine rack wall were amazing and were absolutely perfect. Our servers, John (he was in training) and Wendy were both excellent. They were both warm and friendly, plus, for John being in training, he was knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Seafood Platter, which included haddock, shrimp, and a crab cake; the haddock and shrimp were lightly battered and fried to perfection and were not greasy. The hubs ordered a cheeseburger which was delicious; the burger was cooked to perfection (over a wood-fire grill) and he also liked that the condiments (lettuce, tomato, pickle, and ketchup) all came on the side. Our drinks were never empty nor was the bread basket; magnificent service. Wendy briefly spoke to us about the uniqueness of the restaurant - Malibu Beach Grill makes everything (from dressings to desserts) fresh in house EVERYDAY. For dessert we shared the Strawberry Shortcake (WOWZA!); the pound cake had been lightly toasted and it was still warm when it was served to us. It had a nice portion of vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries. Dessert for us is rare, but, after we saw another group eating it, we had to go for it. As we were leaving, I told the hubs that I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the restaurant, the quality of the food, and the warmth of the service. We will definitely go again for either the Sunday Brunch or for dinner.

We visited here based on all the positive Yelp reviews, and it turned out to be hit and miss. Possibly my expectations were a bit high, but everything seemed like it could have been a little bit better, with more attention to detail. The service overall was great, and the atmosphere inside is quite nice. Examples of what we felt was just a bit off: Ordered the fried asparagus, which was quite tasty. The bottom of the asparagus was not removed on any of them, so when you ate it down to the end, it was inedible. The scallops I ordered (which was a special, Thai glaze they were doing) were rubbery and gritty, not a great dish. My wife ordered the chicken marsala, which was done well for the most part, but seemed quite salty with all the prosciutto the put on it. Overall, I'd go back again to see if this was just a one off thing, but it just seemed lacking in attention to detail.

Tonight was my first experience at the Malibu restaurant and to be honest the food was great, however the service was mediocre. I've been in the restaurant industry for years and have never experienced the type of ridiculous justification by a server...ever! For instance, my sister order a kettle one martini straight up with ice on the side. The server came over placed the martini glass down, shook up the shaker and poured a half a martini then walked away. The entire table of nine looked at each other perplexed and thought he forgot the rest of the martini! The server then went on to justify his actions that the owners were in town and a martini is only 2 ounces. Will we be back? Probably not. I guess thanks to the owners??

I always start with the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer! I can't say that I have tried much of their menu because I always order the same thing. The Mahi Mahi Rockefeller with the Asiago Mashed Potatoes is delicious. Although this is all pretty filling, I recommend the fried cheesecake for dessert. This place is great for special occasions, happy hour or a family dinner.

Wonderful dining experience! Excellent choice! Hubby and I went here for a romantic celebration dinner and our experience was stellar! Our server was cordial, knowledgeable about the menu, professional, and friendly. Wow! We ordered Citrus Scallops and a Bone-In Grilled Pork Chop for our entrees and everything was cooked perfectly! The atmosphere is lovely with soft jazz playing. There is also a patio for your enjoyment when the weather permits. We also ordered an appetizer of French Onion Soup and a dessert of Caramel Apple Pie. Both were so delicious that I forgot to snap a shot of it! We were too busy relishing every bite. Prices are reasonable and if you go, you'll want to come back again and again.

We were looking for a nice place to eat and found this restaurant as we circled through the Pavilion. We arrived shortly after 5 and were immediately seated. The wait staff were great and our waitress made excellent wine and entree suggestions. We had the Mahi Mahi Rockefeller and a Ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection and couldn't have been better. Dessert was the Fried Cheesecake which was AMAZING! We will definitely bring out of town company here in the future.

I was excited to try this place because it was crowded and I thought it was a good sign. Yeah right, I wasn't pleased with the food at all. It's been awhile since I went and I remember it being bland.

This restaurant used to be one of my favorites but after having the worst service I have ever had we will probably steer clear and go elsewhere. I made reservations for 17 people (we were celebrating my birthday), informed them how many children and that we will also need a high chair. As soon as we got there it was down hill. No high chair, had to ask 3 times for one and finally got one after about 20 mins. Took 15 mins alone just to get menus. The server was nice but he was our only server and my husband found out later he also had more tables on the other side of the restaurant. That's such poor management to do that. No wonder it took so long and the service was so poor. The reservation was at 7 and we didn't leave til 9:45. My husband complained to the manager about this and all he did was refill drinks...once. I could go on more but this review is lengthy enough. The only reason I gave it 2 stars because the food is very good but I will no longer waste my money on horrible service.

This is one of the better restaurants that I have been to in this area. We came for my sister-in-law's graduation lunch before we had to head to the airport. There were eight of us as she had invited another couple to join the family. Our server was great and quite polite. We had calamari, spinach and artichoke dip, and baked goat cheese. The calamari was alright, as was the spinach and artichoke dip. I really loved the goat cheese with the toast points. It was creamy and the marinara sauce was just sweet enough. I had a steak sandwich medium-rare with grilled red onions and cheese. The meat was well-done (which makes me cringe that they maim meat) and dry. They also melted cheese ON TOP of the baguette, which means that I had to try to hold the greasy sandwich with my hands sliding on the cheese. I ended up just using a knife and fork. The mashed potatoes were not bad but there was a pool of butter collecting from the huge chunk placed on top. The prices were decent and I am sure it is a great choice for the location. However, there was not much creativity or inspiration that went in the food.

One of the more trendy places in Port Orange, this is a must if you like finer food and a classy "younger" atmosphere--not a sea shell or bad underwater paintings in sight. Food was a bit pricey, but good--My personal favorite is the seared ahi tuna...one of the best I've had in the area. I'd also recommend dining at dusk; the indoor and outdoor Pavilion lights are pretty mesmerizing.

Our first visit to Malibu Beach Grill and it was fantastic. Even the salad was excellent. Our server Megan was pleasant and attentive. A very selective menu without the crazy prices. Looking foward to trying all their menu items.

Malibu Beach Grill in Port Orange was rated fairly high on most of the other sites so we decided to try it this evening. The atmosphere was very nice and our server was personable and pleasant. The calamari appetizer was wonderful and the highly recommended special was surf and turf sounded fantastic since the server billed the 6oz strip as the best thing ever. Well the lobster was tasty, but the steaks were average at best. My wife ordered hers medium rare and it was a solid medium and mine was made to order - medium. The strip itself was a little tough and a slightly saltier than a quality NY strip fresh from the kitchen should be. The steaks, supposedly a specialty, reminded me of something slightly thicker, but the same quality, as a strip that one would get from Longhorn Steak House - edible, but nothing special. I give Malibu Beach Grill 3 stars mainly for atmosphere and service. Best advice: Calamari appetizer is a must, but stay away from the steak.

This place is great. Steaks are aged beef and are really good. Seafood is great also, try the Mahi Mahi Rockefeller or for steak their filet is awesome. Prices are fair for what you get.

Trendy restaurant in The Pavillion at Port Orange. Inside and outside seating. Steaks arrived hot and cooked to order. I enjoyed some of the best hollandaise I've ever had over my filet mignon and lobster. Salads were crisp and cold, and dressing was served on the side in a small boat. Nice. We sat outside this last time, and our service was not quite as attentive as during visits when we've sat indoors. Each time (indoors and out), however, we had to wait on drink refills, and it took several minutes to get our check. We passed on dessert, because of this, as we didn't want to spend the night there. Dress is business-casual--don't go in wearing casual or beach attire. I would have given four stars, if the service had been better. Food was great, however. We'll go back, but only when we have more than a couple of hours to kill.

I was impressed at first with the great looking restaurant, but quickly found our waiter and the manager on duty only catering to the lady that I was with. I ended up with very cold food since they took her meal back to be remade, while my meal sat on the table for 20 minutes cold. They never bothered to ask me how my very cold meal was. I actually think it would have tasted great if it was warm, but was surprised by the lack of attention to the food quality

My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and it was really nice. The place was very simple, clean & crisp. The decorations were very nice and different. Our server was really nice and polite. He was nice and didn't come to the table every 5 minutes, so we were able to enjoy our meal. We both had a steak and it was very good. Its classy and has a decent price to it. It wasn't crazy busy which was nice. We sat inside so i didnt see the outside. Its a place where you dont wanna wear beach stuff or ripped jeans and what not. A dark pair of jeans and a nice top would do, so it's a nice casual.

Found this place one Saturday afternoon after visiting a friend that lives on that side of Port Orange. First impression from the exterior it gives you a feel as if it is similar to other popular New American places such as Capital Grill. Inside this place is sharp. Modern decor, good lighting and comfortable seating. Several areas to sit including a bar and outdoor area. If the heat index wasn't over 100 degrees that day we would have opted to sit outside. The wait staff was nice and attentive. Menu has a good selection of the normal fare. Something there for everyone.Kudos to the owners for bringing something new to Port Orange. Prices seem spot on. For an appetizer we decided to have the baked goat cheese. From the quality of the app I can usually tell if the food will be something to look forward to. That was good despite the amount of marinara topped on it. The marinara also didn't taste homemade to me. I had the pan seared almond crusted salmon with steamed vegetables as my main while my girlfriend had some chicken artichoke spinach goat cheese concoction. Initially when I received my plate I was puzzled as the salmon came in small portions rather than one fillet. After tasting it I was ok with the sections. Cooked and seasoned well. One thing I will give them praise for is their choice of vegetables as their side. Most places will just give you squash, broccoli and zucchini. I actually got yellow beets, asparagus along with some of the other mentioned items. This may be trivial to most people but for me it says a lot about the standards.

Nice atmosphere, good food and reasonable priced entrees. I had grouper piccata and it was delicious, as were the asiago mashed potatoes. Generous wedge salad portion with loads of blue cheese. We shared the crab cake app and it was tasty too! Some of the party had steaks and contrary to reviews here, they were cooked to right temp and were good. Good service! We would go back for sure!

Just there last night after day at the beach. Wonderful place, nicely varied menu and very good service. Kitchen a bit slow (especially on a Tuesday evening) but seafood quite good. Had crabcake stuffed tilapia which was delish! Don't skip the homemade key lime pie!!

We were first timers last night on my birthday. We had heard good things about it and wewere not disappointed. Lovely. Squeaky clean ambiance and great service. Very nice menu, wine list and a so so beer list. No draft beer choices drive me crazy though. David, our very knowing waiter, helped us out with some suggestions off the menu as well as the wine list. My wife got the Ginger soy grilled shrimp and my house special steak with Asaigo mashed spuds was great and came out the medium rare that I had asked for. Over all it was a delightful evening and we would have no trouble recommending it or going back.

We have eaten at Malibu Beach Grill twice since it opened and loved it both times - once on Friday evening after 7:00 and once on Saturday at around 6:00 p.m.. It's a very modern-looking place in The Pavillion Shopping Plaza. The service is excellent and the food is very good. They do great steaks and seafood. The sides are always served warm and they are seasoned well. The bar is well-stocked and they have a martini menu and a wine menu. There are several different seating areas, including the bar, and a glassed-in section with a door, shades that can be pulled all the way down for privacy or all the way up or in-between. They also give you a remote for the flat-screen t.v. on the wall. I have even heard from other people I know that they handle large groups very well also. There was a birthday party in a separate room both times we were there.

I've eaten there twice now and the atmosphere is by far one of the nicest in town and the prices for the seafood are very affordable. Both times the service was great and the food was even better. I had the mahi both times with the oscar style topping, to say the least it was amazing and priced relatively cheap. Its a great place to take a date and the bar is well stocked. They even have a private room in which they can roll down curtains so you can have a private dining experience with your larger party.

We arrived at 5pm for a dinner service. Our waiter (William) was very professional. He took our orders for drinks and gave us time to review the menu before he returned with our drinks. He then gave us the specials of the day and offered to answer any questions that we may have had about the entrees or specials. When he returned he took our orders and offered suggestions that we accepted. I had the special of surf and turf - it arrived as ordered medium rare (William asked us to cut the steaks to make sure they were done as ordered) the steak was juicy and very tasty. The lobster tail was done to prefection- not dried out as I have found in other places in the area. The mashed potatoes were also very tasty- and fluffy. The Ceasar salad was excellent and with fresh crisp lettuce. My son had a 14 oz NY strip steak- medium rare with mashed potatoes- again juicy and with a great taste. My wife had a six ounce steak from the lite menu along with Malibu Salad (William recommended a white balsamic dressing that was outstanding) As we walked to our car- all of us were raving about the great meal and service. There are places where you have a meal and just walk out feeling that the food was ok- Malibu Beach Grill will have you praising the food and service. Malibu Beach Grill is at the top of our list for good eating in the Port Orange area.

Mostly just ok... Tries to be fancier than it is... Steak and lobster was ok... Truthfully the fish taco was better. Staff was friendly and service was quick... But I expected a little more for the price.

Great expectations poor execution. Waited for an hour and a half for dinner on a Sunday. Firecracker shrimp are a poorly executed imitation of bone fishes bang bang shrimp. We had to ask for bread, water, and water again. Managers were less than accommodating even when the issue of a prolonged dinner service was raised by multiple tables. Looked great and read well on yelp. Unfortunately we won't be back.

Lunch on Saturday at 1 pm. Party of 4. Ordered from lunch special section of menu. Two in party ordered Philly Cheese Steak and turkey club sandwich specials. 5 minutes later waiter returns and says they are out of both items "due to menu changing tomorrow" WTF? We are ordering TODAY off their printed menu. We make adjustments and order other items. 40 minutes later we get our food. Restaurant is only 1/4 full ( now we know why) Food arrived tepid, fries cold, burger tepid, grilled chicken tepid. Either there is major disconnect between kitchen and wait staff, or no one is really supervising service. This will be our last visit to this restaurant. Perhaps they should cease weekend lunch business if their heart isn't in it.

A good place. I had the steak skewers and my wife had the chicken tenders (both from the early bird menu). My skewers were done right and the Asiago mash was very good. The chicken tenders have a good breading. Their sweet potato fries are good too.

The ambience is great in here! Beautifully decorated, great mood lighting, I loved it! I had the soup of the day which was a loaded potato and cheese. It was delicious! Then I ordered the seafood dish that came with a lobster tail, mini crab cakes, and shrimp with mashed potatoes on the side. The lobster was great! The shrimp were okay, and the crab cakes were awful! They had no flavor at all. I was highly disappointed. Crab cakes are my favorite and the ones at Publix are better than the ones here. Aside from that, I had the chocolate decadence brownie sundae, it was delicious! My friend had the New Orleans pasta and loved it. Overall, I'll be back. I'll just stay clear of the crab cakes next time. Oh, our waitress, Kim, was great! Best service I've had since moving to Volusia County.

Great service, only a short wait at 630 on a Friday. Had the fish tacos with sweet Thai chili sauce.... Awesome. With the trip.

I had great expectations for this restaurant and they were surpassed BY FAR! I absolutely love their menu, it has something for everyone in the family and after eating there each weekend after church my entire family of 8 has never had any problems or complaints. Great value and portion sizes.

So awesome! I'm pretty sure I had the best chicken nuggets I've ever had in my life here. We got the Brie appetizer and that was really amazing although I think it's meant for more than 2 people, we got so full! Their fries are great too! Cool atmosphere and friendly staff!
